Very little coverage in the election campaign has focused on youth unemployment.
- The numbers of young people not in employment or training is at an all time high.
- What message does this give to a future generation?
- Is it you don’t matter?

To put the situation into context there are currently 9000 young people under 25 not in work or training just in Christchurch.
I have met with the Mayor on a couple of occasions to encourage him to revive the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs to do his bit towards this blight on our city. To date I have been unsuccessful.
