Should we be worried? What can we do about it?
Craig Pauling, presently chair of ECan and Vicky Southworth ECan Councillor. Unfortunately both retiring this term, but will share their thoughts on Nitrates. You will be aware that Greenpeace has been raising the issue, and running a campaign regarding Environment Canterbury Candidates and their position on this issue.
At the same time Vicky moved a Notice of Motion to have ECan declare a Nitrate Emergency. This passed narrowly (9-7) and included some actions for Councillors and staff in the next term.
