Last week we had the Minister for Earthquake Recovery, Megan Woods. It was a very civil gathering and everybody was being polite. Especially Cam Preston, who asked a question of Megan about the level of Crown spending in Canterbury. Megan neatly sidestepped the question, but, significantly, did not defend the indefensible, the figure in the Global Settlement papers of $14b. I found that one of the really interesting comments of the evening.
Nobody raised the horizontal infrastructure being incorrect either. That is for another day.
It was good to have the Minister back again to the Tuesday Club. The video of the evening will be posted on Aaron Campbell’s video link at later this evening.
