The Summit Road Society, Banks Peninsula Conservation Trust and community groups from across Banks Peninsula and greater Christchurch are banding together to make nature a priority in the upcoming Long Term Plans.
When nature thrives, we thrive. By giving early feedback to CCC and ECAN, you can help shape the Long Term Plan. We want nature to be high on the list of priorities. Let’s use the power of grassroots collective action to make a difference.
Christchurch City Council
Christchurch City Council are using a quick point system to gauge residents’ priorities. We are encouraging high points in parks & gardens and climate change. Nature-based solutions enhance biodiversity, improve freshwater quality, restore habitat for native fauna, improve community wellbeing and build climate resilience.

Environment Canterbury
Environment Canterbury has a detailed submission form which will be used to inform the Regional Policy Statement, Long Term Plan and a range of other strategies. Submitters can also upload their own comments in Word form. We are encouraging supporters to tell ECAN they want flourishing eco-systems, healthy waterways and abundant native wildlife. Write as little or as much as you like!
