Instead of Tuesday Club this week, we are having a public event about Three Waters. There will be the first public meeting on Water this Wednesday:
7pm 18 August Aldersgate centre 309 Durham St
We are having a public meeting on water this week. It will be held at the Aldersgate Centre (which is on the site of the old Durham Street Methodist Church) at 7pm on Wednesday.
We will have representatives from the Christchurch City Council, the Waimakariri District Council, the Dunedin City Council, and Invercargill City Council. Eugene Sage of the Green Party will also speak.
All the Councils have serious questions about the proposed reforms for water and our purpose for the meeting is to identify alternative solutions which can be proposed to the Government.
So, keep Wednesday evening free and come along to the Aldersgate Centre at 7pm. This meeting is important because all the discussions by our Council fighting to prevent the theft of our local water have been held behind closed doors so far.
We need more time to consult on the proposed huge changes in the way we manage the Three Waters.
Garry Moore will be MC of a panel including:
- Eugenie Sage MP
- Pauline Cotter (chair of infrastructure committee at CCC)
- Dr Jim O’Malley (Chair of infrastructure Committee Dunedin City Council)
- possibly someone from Invercargill
