The Fabian Society invite you to hear Nicky Hager discuss his role as an expert witness in the recent extradition trial of Julian Assange at 5:30pm at Wellington Baptist Church, 46-48 Boulcott Street, Wellington on Thursday 5 November.
Nicky Hager was an expert witness for the defence in the recent two-week long extradition trial of Julian Assange in London. He will discuss the background to the trial, his evidence, the nature of the accusations against Assange, and the issues and principles at stake for journalism and for democratic accountability. The interview will also be available live on Zoom.
Nicky Hager is a life-long peace activist and author of a number of significant investigative books that have lifted the lid on our politics and society. The include Secret and Lies, (1996), The Hollow Men (2006), Other People’s Wars (2011), Dirty Politics (2104) and Hit and Run (2017).
