The promise by Judith Collins that National will build a new car parking building if National get elected this year is interesting. I reflected on phrases like this from Gerry Brownlee:
“It will be an instruction to the Ministry of Health to get a car park close-in to the hospital.”
Then he said:
The difference between the current Government doing that and National doing that was National would get it done, Brownlee said.
“We certainly won’t be mucking around as much as the current lot have.”
This caused me to contemplate the fact that the previous National Government took the planning for the new buildings at CDHB off the local board and handed it to the Ministry of Health, and an Australian construction company, CPB. This project is now 3 years late and costing a fortune for the CDHB having to lease surgical suits from the private sector.
So much for the Ministry of Health’s planning excellence. https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/122303616/national-leader-judith-collins-makes-confusing-christchurch-hospital-car-parking-promise
