Are we witnessing the fact that the next Mayoral campaign is on:

I guess, because I participated in Mayoral debates for too many years, my political nose twitches very quickly.

In the Press “Letters to the Editor” yesterday there was this letter. Under the headline “Explanation needed” it said:

“Congratulations to John Minto for the work he has done regarding the Mayor’s expenses. She now becomes a lame duck Mayor for the next three years. I note that Councillor Mike Davidson has declared that his largest donor is his father, Rob Davidson, who was also named as the donor for Mayor Dalziel, before she admitted Chinese donors. A further explanation is required. ROBYN ANDERSEN, ILAM.”

A Google search of the name “Robyn Andersen” produced this https://www.beehive.govt.nz/speech/stark-contrast-canterburywestland-division-national-party-conference

Is this the same “Robyn Andersen” who was being acknowledged at the National Party conference by PM Jim Bolger?

It raises the question in my mind of what the real intention of this letter was.
