Last week’s speaker was Tim Grafton, CEO of the Insurance Council. This address was really well received. Unfortunately, I was trapped in Wellington so cannot comment on the evening other than having enjoyed the video.
After the presentation I received the following message from Nigel Colenso:
Tim Grafton gave a good presentation last evening. I spoke to him quickly afterwards about “you’re pushing for base isolation of commercial buildings, but not residential, why not?” I was surprised when he said he didn’t know there was anything available. We demo’d the ABI Pier system to the Personal Lines Committee in July 2018 and received the attached emails in support.
Now that local elections are over, this email is to ask whether you think it’s time to have a Christchurch Mayoral Forum to try and develop a solution to the as-is-where-is housing debacle. Melissa Heath is / was on the Wellington Mayor’s working Group, so would be a good person to have on board.
Our final Tuesday Club meeting at the start of December will have Mayor Lianne Dalziel attending. We will add this to her list we will be asking her to speak about. Save up those topics and let us know what you want Lianne to cover in her address.
