Last week we had a hummer of a session…
- Firstly, Tony Moore spoke about the CCC programme to address Global Warming. It was interesting to have Eric Pawson challenge the room to consider whether or not we as a City are being brave enough and embracing the Climate Commission’s goals. That led to Axel Downward-Wilke approaching Rod Carr, chair of the Climate Commission, via Andy Buchanan, to speak to the Tuesday Club this week.
The Tuesday Club will make a submission to CCC saying that we will be making a more in-depth submission on Climate Change proposals after we have listened to the Chair of the Climate Commission. We will then work in depth with Tony Moore the following week on whether the CCC policy is brave enough and in line with the national goals.
- Secondly, John Filsell spoke on the proposals for changing the electoral boundaries for the next Local Government elections. The other topic covered in the talk was the number of Councillors and Community Board members per ward and what changes were being considered.
Both of these talks are covered in this video which is provided by Aaron Campbell, who was sick and who carefully trained up Rosemary Neave as assistant camera-person!
