I heard a great joke about a bank manager this week, thanks to Leister Monk...
Mick was a serious competitive cyclist. One day he had a massive accident and incurred a serious eye injury. Eventually the eye had to be removed and ACC supplied him with a new glass one. With the rest of his compensation he had enough money to undertake a commerce degree at University. He left university and started working for a bank. He worked his way right up to becoming a bank manager.
One day John was needing a bank loan to expand his business. He appeared before Mick. He was having a beer with his mate that night, dejected by the reception he had experienced. “How”, his friend asked, “did you tell which was the real eye so you could look at it?”
“That was easy”, said John. “the person who made the glass eye left some compassion in it”.
