There are many businesses which have a quiet approach to supporting their community. They might feed the poor who visit their premises each day. They can do something like what Sam Crofsky does in Samoa where the staff at C1 went to the islands and taught them how to plant coffee, and then they buy the product off the Samoans who nurture and pick the crops.
I heard about another socially responsible business recently. The business is called Weft’s Knitwear and Thermal. They make Merino Possum products. They are having a sale on November 20-24th from 9-5 Wed to Fri and 10- 4pm on Sat/Sun. 30% of the sale proceeds will go to three local charities. The Trusts are Supporting Families Canterbury; 180 degrees Trust; and The Youth Hub.
