Thanks to Paddy Gower it’s no longer a secret that Christchurch is “New Zealand’s best city by far”. The city is facing strong growth while other cities across New Zealand face stagnation or decline.
But why is Christchurch thriving and what does it mean for marketers? In this presentation Carl Davidson will draw from the long running Te Mauri O Ōtautahi (‘The Pulse of Christchurch’) research programme to look at what is driving Christchurch’s growth, who is benefiting, and who is missing out.

Carl is a Fellow of the Research Association of New Zealand and a Global Insight250 Winner. Carl has worked in the insights industry for over 30 years and is currently the Head of Insights at The Curiosity Company.
He is the author or editor of ten books about research and evidence, writes a regular insights column for NZ Marketing Magazine, and moonlights as a Senior Adjunct Fellow in the University of Canterbury’s Business School.

The tragic irony here is how the scale of drug policy dysfunction often doubles down with absolute certainty on approaches that have positively failed elsewhere.
